How much does it cost for goal creators?
  • $5 per goal

Creating a goal on CommunityGoals begins a process to help you convert your idea into a meaningful outcome.

How much does it cost for contributors?
  • We have a recovery fee (approximately 3% plus $0.30) so that we don't lose money due to payment processing transaction fees
  • We apply 100% of your contribution to the goal

Contributing not only channels money to a cause, but gives you a voice and stake in the process.

How much does it cost for proposers?
  • $2 per proposal

Submitting a proposal means that your services will be considered to carry out the goal. If you are chosen, complete the project and get paid.

How much does it cost if a goal succeeds?
  • 3% of the winning solution

Only if the CommunityGoals process succeeds for your goal do we take a small percentage. This gives us an incentive to help goals succeed.

Why do we have fees?

Collective Insight LLC is the organization behind CommunityGoals. We charge fees so that we can operate a self-supporting business.

Why is there a fee to create a goal?

  • In exchange for $5, you get to (1) publicize your idea, and (2) use a process that will help develop your idea into a real world solution.
  • Having a small fee increases the quality of goals and discourages spam.

Why is there a fee for a contribution?

  • In order to process payments, we must pay processing fees. We believe it is fair to pass these costs along to contributors. Otherwise, we would lose money for every contribution made.

Why is there a fee to create a proposal?

  • In exchange for $2, you get to (1) publicize your proposal, (2) discuss and clarify your proposal with goal contributors, and (3) possibly win the project and get paid when you complete it.
  • Having a small fee increases the quality of proposals and discourages spam.

Why is there a fee if a goal succeeds?

  • Would you rather us charge only if your goal did not succeed? :)
  • This small fee aligns our success with yours.
